About dlthisvid

dlthisvid is a single-purpose tool: it reads a public ThisVid video page and gives you the file, in every quality it was published in, with the real size beside each one.

How it works

When you paste a link, this server fetches that public page and reads the player configuration on it, which names each quality's file. Those addresses are scrambled on the page, so they are unscrambled here, and each file's host is then asked for its exact size before anything is offered to you.

The download itself passes through this server rather than going straight from your browser. That is not a preference. ThisVid serves its video files only to requests that come from its own pages, and a request from anywhere else is not refused: it is answered with a 19 KB placeholder that looks like a completed download until you open it. Routing through the server is what gets you the real file, with a proper filename, and it means your address is never handed to the source host.

What it does not do

• It does not store the media you download. Files stream through and are gone.
• It does not host, mirror, or index anyone's content.
• It does not require an account, an email address, or a password.
• It cannot reach private or deleted videos. Only what is already public is visible to it.

dlthisvid is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to thisvid.com in any way. The name describes what the tool does. All content reached through it belongs to whoever created and uploaded it.
